Liaison, elision, and anglicisms
French speech joins words the page keeps apart: "les amis" sounds like "lezami", "j'ai" swallows a vowel. Recognition produces normal written French from that, so your script can be written normally. Anglicisms — "le weekend", "un call", "le feedback" — are transcribed as you say them and matched in place.

Spelling that mirrors speech tracks better than formal written French.
- Numbers as words: "deux mille vingt-six", "quinze pour cent" — and "septante" or "soixante-dix", whichever you say.
- Accents are ignored for matching ("a" and "à", "ou" and "où" behave the same); keep them for readability.
- Abbreviations as spoken: "par exemple" not "p. ex."; "S-N-C-F" spelled, "ONU" as a word if that is how you say it.
- Spoken register is fine: "j'sais pas", "y a" track if that is how you talk — apostrophes split a word into pieces the matcher consumes one by one.
- Short lines, one idea each, so an ad-lib re-entry is instant.
